The role

As a Purchaser, you play a key role in ensuring the availability and quality of our raw materials and consumables. You negotiate with suppliers, monitor contract agreements and ensure that our procurement processes run smoothly, efficiently, and compliantly.
You work closely with colleagues from different department and have an active role in sustainable purchasing and further professionalizing our supply chain. Your tasks are broad and dynamic. You are the linkpin in the procurement process and effortlessly switch between operational and strategic responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing the procurement strategy for raw materials, chemicals, and consumables.

• Negotiating price, quality, and delivery reliability and concluding contracts with suppliers.

• Building long-term relationships with local and international suppliers and monitoring their performance.

• Ensuring compliance with quality and sustainability standards (such as ISO, REACH, RoHS).

• Analyzing market developments and initiating improvements and cost savings.

• Working closely with production, logistics, and finance to ensure a stable material flow.

• Supervising the Assistant Purchasing and ensuring a professional, results-oriented procurement department.

Your profile

To be successful in this role, you combine strategic insight with a hands-on mentality. You know when to negotiate, when to optimize, and when to collaborate across departments. You recognize yourself in the following profile:

• Has at least a completed HBO education, preferably in the field of Supply Chain or (Technical) Business Administration

• Several years of experience in a purchasing role within the industry, preferably in (petro)chemicals or automotive.

• Strong in negotiating and building sustainable supplier relationships

• Is analytically strong and can translate market trends into concrete procurement strategies

• Can collaborate effectively with internal departments such as production, logistics, and quality.

• Has experience with inventory management and optimizing procurement parameters

• Is proficient in both Dutch and English communication
