The Mitsui Chemicals Group has a centuries-long history, dating back to 1912. Originally focused on the coal industry, it has now grown into a multinational of stature, employing approximately 17,000 people today. In 2020, the first European factory opened on the Chemelot site (Geleen) in the Netherlands under the flag of Mitsui Chemicals Group, which focuses on producing PP compound for use in the automotive sector, called Mitsui Prime Advanced Composites Europe B.V., or 'ACE'. As a trusted partner to leading OEMs and Tier suppliers, we continuously strive to push the boundaries of performance and efficiency.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who combines technical insight with commercial drive. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, and supporting clients in finding the best polypropylene-based solutions for their applications or needs. You will work closely with our PD, production, and quality teams to translate customer needs into innovative and feasible solutions.   • Developing new business in the automotive sector or at OEM’s and Tiers by visiting customers, working closely together with them to identify needs and building on long lasting relationships;

  • Analyse market trends at OEMS. Translate those findings into commercial plans and execute those plans;

  • Build and deepen the company’s presence in relevant markets and/or customers;

  • Act as main contact in case new business are established, for sales but also for technical support;

Job requirements

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Several years of experience in sales, business development, or technical support, ideally within the automotive plastics or polypropylene industry.

  • Strong technical understanding of polymers and their applications.

  • A creative, independent and positive attitude;

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;

  • Fluent in German and English (additional European languages are a plus).

  • Willingness to visit or travel to customers.
