Join our Product Development team as a Product Development Engineer and help shape the future of sustainable automotive materials!

Your Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you contribute to the development and optimization of PP compounds for automotive applications, translating customer requirements into feasible material designs and specifications. Your daily activities include supporting product and process development trials, analyzing test data, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure successful scale-up and implementation. The role involves regular interaction with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues, improve product performance, and support qualification projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop polypropylene-based compounds for automotive applications.

  • Analyze and evaluate material samples using various analytical techniques.

  • Conduct laboratory testing and interpret results to plan further experiments.

  • Document findings and summarize them in clear, well-structured reports.

  • Support the creation of procedure manuals and technical documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (Quality, Sales, Production).

  • Engage in technical discussions with customers regarding newly developed products.

  • Occasionally visit customer sites across Europe to provide technical support and strengthen relationships.

Job requirements

Your profile

To be successful in this role, you combine a solid chemical background with curiosity, solution-oriented thinking and good communicating skills - also in Dutch and English. You recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.

  • Solid knowledge of polymer chemistry, ideally polypropylene compounds.

  • Proficient in using analytical equipment and interpreting lab data.

  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.

  • Fluency in English and Dutch (written and spoken).

  • Ability to work independently and plan experiments based on data analysis.

  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles is a strong advantage.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and basic project management skills is beneficial
